Demo footage in the film, and the clips laid out on the boards across this site, is other people's work. This page names all of it and the terms it is used under; the Credits link at the foot of every page points here.
Blender Foundation — CC BY 3.0
Sintel and Big Buck Bunny, two Blender Foundation open movies, appear on screen and are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0, which requires attribution wherever the work is shown:
- "Sintel — trailer" — Blender Foundation, Durian project, used under CC BY 3.0. Licence confirmed at durian.blender.org/sharing.
- "Big Buck Bunny — trailer" — Blender Foundation, Peach project, used under CC BY 3.0. Licence confirmed at peach.blender.org/about.
Mixkit — Stock Video Free License
The remaining stock clips on the boards are from Mixkit, used under the Mixkit Stock Video Free License. That licence grants free commercial use and does not itself require a credit — we print one anyway because it is honest to say where footage came from.
It is Mixkit's own licence, not a hands-off dedication of the work: no resale or sublicensing of the raw clip, the clip must be altered before it is redistributed, no use in a competing stock-video service, and the footage is provided as-is. Read the licence itself at mixkit.co/license/#videoFree.
Why a separate page
Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 lets a credit be given "in any reasonable manner", reasonable "to the medium or means You are utilizing" — a linked page is a reasonable manner for a website, and it is what this is. The licence adds one condition that travels with it: if a page names other people who contributed to the same work, this credit has to be at least as visible as theirs. Nothing else on reelpile.com credits a co-author, so that condition is met by the Credits link sitting in the same row, in the same weight, as Privacy, Terms and Refunds — not smaller, not lower, not hidden behind anything else.
